This class includes all the skills, procedures, and information same as our 4 day Nurse Aide class.
In addition to the state approved CNA curriculum information, we include on the 5th day (of your 5 day class), information and additional tasks the Home Health Aide may be required to do working as a Home Health Aide.
You will be given a Home Health Care Aide Book to go along with your CNA books for the first 4 days of your class. Of course all books are yours to keep.
Role for Home Health Care
Each client you care for MAY need:
- Some nurse aide duties
- Housekeeping Duties:
- Grocery shopping
- Keeping patient company
Pick your own hours, days and location where you prefer to work. Most Home Care Agencies have clients in many different areas with many different needs.
Why your responsibilities of a Home Health Care Aide are so vital to many patients and their families
HHAs provide assistance to the chronically ill, the elderly, and family caregivers who need relief from the stress of caregiving. HHAs also work in assisted living facilities, which provide independent living in a homelike group environment. The number or patients that need chronic care will only continue to grow as our population ages.
Purpose of Home Care
One of the most important reasons for offering health care in the home is that most people who are ill or disabled feel more comfortable at home. Their familiar surroundings improve mental and physical well-being.
What to do after completing our Home Health Care Skills class
Students will receive a certificate of completion for the 5 day class they have just completed. If you have already arranged a position with your employer, let them know you have finished Med Ed’s HHA Skills training class and are ready to complete their employment process.
Your Home Health Care Employer will be able to certify you as a Home Health Care Aide after you have finished all their paperwork and requirements.
